Brady left proud of Valiants after springing surprise in cup clash

HAPPY MAN: Boss Jon Brady couldn't hide his delight after Port Vale's FA Cup success.

The Valiants boss has instilled a belief at Vale Park and that was evident on Tuesday night.

He believes there is a growing connection with the supporters but was especially pleased with how organised his side were despite City having large swathes of possession.

"Again, players, the work ethic, the connection, out of possession the way we worked, let's get it right, we gave up a lot of possession but we had the better chances and Ben Waine, overall he had about five big chances," Brady told Port Vale TV.

"He has one cleared off the line, he has a one-on-one with the keeper, he's had two flick headers that nearly go in.

"What he does to get in there and he anticipates and Andre [Gray] sets him off, and he reads it, he reads it brilliantly. But it was like Platoon in their box in the end and it was like snipers alley.

"They are all going down and the ball goes past them and goes in the far corner.
