Bowlers come to the fore as Elworth pocket points

ELWORTH seconds were in impressive form to take their points at their Norton in Hales counterparts in NSSCL Division Two.

It was the Elworth bowlers who put in the hard yards to set up the win as they dismissed their hosts for 114.

Maulik Bhalodiya (3-28), Oliver Bone (3-29) and Mike Holt (3-41) did the bulk of the damage, while James Ruscoe (47) offered the primary resistance.

Elworth didn’t have too many concerns in wrapping up a six-wicket success on the resumption.

Jonny Chambers (27), Russell Cope (21), James Yates-Mclaren (19no) and Matthew Yardley (17no) guided the Cheshire side past the post.

Little Stoke banked a five-wicket triumph at home against Meir Heath.

Visitors Meir Heath managed to stick 147 all out on the board in the first half of the contest.

F Javed (48) and J Renshaw (18) made the biggest impacts with the bat, while A Ziad (6-29) took the bowling plaudits for Little Stoke. ‘There were also two wickets for T Spruce.
