PREMIER CLASS: Port Vale were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in last night's Carabao Cup third-round tie in Burslem.

Vale started the second half well but goalkeeper Gauci had to race clear to prevent Martinelli from making it two showing excellent alertness.
Walters caught Saka on the shin as Vale got stuck in and 10 minutes later Dowman replaced his more experienced teammate in the 63rd minute.
Vale made a double change with Garrity and Mitch Clark on for George Hall and Gabriel.
Then Ruari Paton and Ronan Curtis departed for Stockley and Cole while Arsenal made changes of their own including Gyokeres who entered the fray.
Cole sent a scorching shot inches over the bar after Arsenal gave the ball away.
Gyokeres was stopped by a superb tackle from Humphreys as Arsenal almost made it 2-0.
Immediately, Clark was replaced by Funso Ojo after seemingly damaging his hamstring while Rice emerged for the visitors for the last 10 minutes.
Arsenal wrapped up the win late on when sub Trossard was played in over the top and, despite looking offside, stepped inside to ram home from the edge of the box.
Port Vale: Joe Gauci, Jordan Gabriel (Mitch Clark 66, Funso Ojo 81), Jesse Debrah, Cameron Humphreys, Connor Hall, Jaheim Headley, Ryan Croasdale, Rhys Walters, George Hall (Ben Garrity 66), Ruari Paton (Jayden Stockley 70), Ronan Curtis (Devante Cole 70). Subs not used: Marko Marosi, Ben Heneghan, George Byers, Mo Faal.
