All change for new pub landlady Kate

Social worker ditches desk to take over Stoke venue

A SOCIAL worker craving a 'change of pace' has ditched her desk to take charge of a city pub.

Kate Coleman says she accepted the job as landlady of The Sutherland Arms, in Boothen, Stoke, 'before she even knew it'.

Kate, of Chell, said: "I just really fancied a break. I've been working in social services for like a million years and I wanted to do something different. My last job was intense with a lot of responsibilities. I fancied doing something a bit lighter. Something fun.

"So when I saw the pub being advertised, it was a no-brainer. I've worked in pubs off and on ever since I was 18 and I've always really enjoyed it.

"I'm a bit nosy and I love talking to new people, so it's right up my alley really."
