Council leaders back new 'safe centre' to be used by fourteen local authorities
VULNERABLE city children will soon be placed in a new £71 million 'safe centre' in Birmingham.
Leaders at Stoke-on-Trent City Council have agreed to participate in a 20-bed children's home for West Midlands youngster who require secure placements.
The project, funded by the Department for Education, will see the home managed on behalf of 14 local authorities.
A report setting out the details was considered by cabinet members during a closed session, owing to it including 'commercially sensitive information.'
