£500m deal means new jail jobs

Dovegate operator has its contract renewed

NEW jobs are in the pipeline after the company running a Staffordshire jail won a £500 million Government contract.

Serco, which provides services to governments, has been running HMP Dovegate, near Uttoxeter, since 2001.

Now it has won a contract to carry on managing the category B adult prison for 12 years from July 2026 - with options for three additional one-year extensions.
