RSP's Sewage Treatment Plant enters second phase of trial

THE state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) being developed by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for its Steel Township has entered the second phase of trial operations and is slated for commissioning in the third week of July.
Following the successful completion of equipment erection and initial trial operations in April 2025, the facility is now moving closer to full-scale deployment.
Designed to treat 30 million litres per day (MLD) of sewage, this modern facility marks a major step towards improving environmental sustainability and public health in the region. The project, valued at approximately Rs 96 crore, is being implemented as per the directives of the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) to enhance sanitation and ecological standards.
