ECoR GM reviews Rath Yatra readiness at Puri Railway Station

AS the pilgrim city of Puri gears up for the grand Rath Yatra, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) is executing large-scale preparations to ensure smooth travel and a safe, comfortable experience for the lakhs of devotees expected to arrive. ECoR General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal conducted an inspection at Puri Railway Station on Wednesday to assess readiness, with a focus on passenger comfort, infrastructure, crowd management, and technological integration.
ECoR has arranged over 365 special trains from states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra to manage the expected surge in travel demand. Enhanced facilities such as dedicated pilgrim waiting areas and mela sheds with covered seating, mobile charging stations, toilets, water booths, medical aid, and ATMs have been set up. Scouts, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel are in place for crowd
