Chief Secretary Ahuja stresses urgent action on drinking water crisis amid heat wave

"IMMEDIATE and effective steps must be taken to address drinking water issues across Odisha, especially in heat wave-affected areas," directed Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja at a high-level meeting held at Kharavel Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Chairing the session, Ahuja emphasized the urgent need for ensuring the functionality of water supply systems, particularly in urban centres like Bhubaneswar, and called on officials to act on complaints highlighted in the media.
The meeting, focused on implementing various schemes outlined in the 2025-26 state budget, gave top priority to mitigating the drinking water crisis exacerbated by rising temperatures. The Chief Secretary instructed district and departmental officials to respond swiftly to public grievances and ensure uninterrupted water supply.
