Keeping in view rogue state, Pakistan's humongous trust deficit and strange ambivalence of the international community, our forces and military assets must be kept at perpetual readiness, writes Sarat Mishra

- Sarat Mishra

THE real face of our so-called friends and sympathisers got terribly exposed. America went low with its dirty trick to equate India and Pakistan, Western nations kept mum but chanted sermons to impose restraint. They did not blame Pakistan for the heinous terrorist act that killed 26 innocent Hindus at Pahalgam by TRE, an offshoot of Lashkar -e -Taiba, a dreaded terrorist group operating from Pakistan under the aegis of ISI and Pak Army. It is only Israel which stood rock solid with India to castigate the inhumane acts of Pak sponsored terror outfits and pledge its unequivocal support to Indian action.

In a deadly response to the gruesome terrorist attack on 22nd April, in early hours of 7th May, India attacked 9 terrorist centres spread over PoK and Pakistan by hammer bombs, scalp missiles and Kamikaze drones with high power and precision to destroy these centres, killing more than 100 terrorists.

Pakistan, the epicentre of terrorists, retaliated, targeting different parts of India near western border by using drones, missiles, fighter jets and artillery shells.

India inflicted a decisive missile attack on 11 Pak air bases by jamming and defuncting the shield of Pak air space provided by Chinese HQ16 and 9. The conflict that lasted nearly 90 hours proved an eye opener for defence experts and analysts. The countries purportedly boasting of superiority of their arms and defence mechanism wishing Indian humiliation were blatantly shocked.

India adopted: Observe, Orient, Decide and Act ie OODA Loop in short to deal with the enemy for which an integrated air command and control system was put in place. It was a four layered indigenously developed defence mechanism to be called Akashteer. Counter defence and MANPADS, pin pointed Air defence by short, medium and long range surface to air missiles, constituted the 4 layers.
