Unicapital slashes PSEi year-end target

Unicapital Securities Inc. has lowered its Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) target for the year to 7,100 from 7,800, citing a volatile first half marked by macroeconomic weakness, geopolitical risks and cautious investor sentiment.
The revised index target still implies a nine-percent gain from the 6,528 level at the end of 2024.
Unicapital said that after falling by three percent in the first half, the PSEi was able to recover to around 6,350 in July, boosted by calmer inflation and growth-supportive policies.
