Ryle Santiago is one of the established and familiar faces in the TV5 entertainment and music countdown program, “Vibe.”

- JERRY DONATO

He banks on his previous hosting stints to help viewers navigate the show’s varied segments, such as “Main Vibe,” “Uprising” and “OG Experience.”

It’s a challenge to present a show and engage viewers at home or wherever they may be.

His natural interest, encompassing knowledge, in music also comes in handy.

“Perhaps for ‘Main Vibe,’ what I really like about it is that we’re celebrating the now because the concept of ‘Vibe’ is (about) the past, present and future,” said Ryle in an exclusive virtual interview with this paper.

“We're celebrating the present. Sino ba ang tinatangkilik ng tao right now (who are the artists people are currently listening to these days?), who do we like at the moment? So, whenever there's a guest for 'Main Vibe,' it's always something fresh because it's what's new.”

The segment presents the Top 10 Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs voted by the fans and public through new and traditional platforms. It features the current hits and the artists “that will become OGs eventually,” added he.

“I think I like ‘OG’ a little bit more because I really like the older music,” said Ryle. “So far, (with) all of the OGs that have guested, tuwang-tuwa ako (I'm very happy) because I grew up (listening to) their music. My mom, especially when APO was there, tuwang-tuwa talaga siya (was really delighted).”
