PLDT yesterday announced it is establishing VITRO Inc. to serve as its dedicated company for data center buildup, doubling down on efforts to attract tech giants to consider the Philippines as their next investment site.
VITRO will be headed by Victor Genuino, also the president and CEO of ePLDT.
Citing a report from Structure Research, PLDT said the data center market in the Philippines has reached $219 million as of 2023. The industry is projected to expand by an average of 36 percent until 2028, as enterprises look for spaces where they can store their data.
