The Philippine Star

May 29, 2024

A descendant of Jose Rizal yesterday called on Filipinos to have greater awareness of the Heraldic Code of the Philippines during the celebration of National Flag Day in Rizal Park in Manila.

- MARK ERNEST VILLEZA

Tess Herbosa told The STAR that understanding and adhering to the code is crucial in "honoring the national flag properly." "You see offices and private houses displaying torn and tattered flags," Herbosa said.

She added that Filipinos must be mindful to replace flags when they are no longer clean and know the proper way to dispose of old ones.
