Unemployment in the country declined in June from the previous month, while the quality of jobs improved, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
In a press conference, Deputy National Statistician Divina Gracia del Prado said the results of the PSA's Labor Force Survey showed that the country's unemployment rate went down to 3.7 percent in June from the previous month's 3.9 percent.
The June unemployment rate, however, was higher than the 3.1 percent in the same month last year.

Job quality improved as the underemployment rate also fell to 11.4 percent in June from the previous month's 13.1 percent and 12.1 percent in June last year.
There were 5.76 million underemployed Filipinos or those who want additional hours of work or an additional job in June. This is lower than the 6.60 million underemployed Filipinos in the previous month and 6.08 million in June 2024.
The country's employment rate rose to 96.3 percent in June from 96.1 percent in the previous month, but dipped from 96.9 percent in the same month a year ago.
