Cebu Pacific leasing jets to Saudi airline

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific is leasing two of its Airbus A320s to Saudi Arabia airline flyadeal in line with the strategy to maximize its fleet during the low-demand season.

Cebu Pacific yesterday signed a wet lease with flyadeal covering two of its A320s, as the carrier based in Saudi Arabia would require more aircraft in the third quarter.

Cebu Pacific CEO Michael Szucs said the airline typically receives lower demand between July and September, leaving several of its aircraft unused.

When compared, flyadeal CEO Steven Greenway said the airline needs more aircraft during the period, as it is one of the peak seasons for air travel in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia, where the carrier is headquartered, is becoming a destination of choice for millions of travelers.
