The Philippines blew a one-run lead in the seventh and final inning and absorbed a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to host China in the WBSC Women's Softball Asia Cup in Xi'an.
With the Philippines 1-0 up on an Alaiza Talisik double to left field that scored Roma Jane Cruz home atop the seventh, Royevel Palma had a chance to pitch a shutout but unraveled late when she got blasted by two RBIs (runs batted in) from Yan Siyu and Xi Kailin at the bottom of the frame.
