AboitizPower bond offer earns top credit rating

The planned issuance of up to P30 billion worth of retail bonds by Aboitiz Power Corp. has attained the highest credit rating from Philippine Ratings Services Corp.

PhilRatings assigned an issue credit rating of PRS Aaa with a stable outlook to the first tranche of AboitizPower's P100-billion fixed-rate retail bond program.

PRS Aaa is the highest rating assigned by PhilRatings, denoting that AboitizPower's bonds are of the highest quality with minimal credit risk.

The rating also indicates that the issuer has an "extremely strong" capacity to meet its financial commitment to the obligation.

A stable outlook, on the other hand, suggests that the credit rating is likely to be maintained or remain unchanged in the next 12 months.
