The Observer

July 27, 2025

Donald Trump played golf at his Ayrshire resort yesterday, as protesters gathered in Aberdeen and Edinburgh for the US president's first full day in Scotland.

- Rachael Healy

Trump will spend five days in the country for what has been billed as a private visit. However, he is also expected to spend time with Keir Starmer finessing the details of a US-UK trade deal, as well as meeting Scotland's first minister, John Swinney, and the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen.
