UFBU protests seeking 5-day work week for banks

Bank employees under the banner of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) held demonstrations on Tuesday at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh, joining nationwide protests to demand the implementation of a five-day work week for banks.
Union leaders said bank employees and officers are working under increasing physical and mental stress due to heavy workloads and staff shortages. They stated that the demand for a five-day work week is long pending and well known to the government.
