EPF Interest Rate retained at 8.25 per cent for FY25

The government has approved the interest rate of 8.25 per cent on employees’ provident fund (EPF) deposits for the financial year 2024-25, clearing the way for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to credit the annual returns into the accounts of over seven crore subscribers.

As per reports, the EPFO had proposed to retain the 8.25 per cent rate during its 237th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees held on 28 February, chaired by Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The proposal was subsequently sent to the Ministry of Finance for concurrence,
