Shun practice of 'Mudhal Mariyadhai' at temples: HC

Justice N Anand Venkatesh of the Madras High Court has said the practice of offering "Mudhal Mariyadhai" at temple festivals shall be stopped stating that such practice often leads to law and order issues.

He observed that such practices are defeating the very purpose of holding temple festivals and are against the concept of equality and the ideal that all are equal before God.
