Modi vows to make India world's 3rd largest economy

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi, on an election campaign in the home state Gujarat, addressed a public meeting at the Deesa town in Banaskantha district, where he appealed to the people of Gujarat to vote for a stable government.

"On the voting day (May 7) even if the mercury is at its peak, you should vote without fail," he said.

He predicted that the Congress would lose all 25 seats in Rajasthan, voting for which concluded in the second phase.

"The Congress is busy defaming me and running a malicious campaign in the name of 'Chailwala' or 'Chowkidar Chor hai' or by mocking my government's decision to buy Rafale fighters," said the PM.

Modi also promised to make India the third largest economy in the world in his next term.

With a public meeting in Deesa, and another at Himmatnagar, Modi is targeting voters of four constituencies in North Gujarat, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Banaskantha and Patan.
