Maruti earmarks record ₹14,000 cr for capex in FY27

AFTER blockbuster sales in the financial year 2025-26, country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) has set aside a capital expenditure of ₹14,000 crore for F27 to enhance production capability as it struggles to meet the growing demand.
The carmaker, operating at 100% capacity utilisation, rolled out 24 lakh vehicles last fiscal. MSIL will be adding its capacity by 5 lakh units in FY27 by adding a production line in Kharkhoda (Haryana) and Hansalpur (Gujarat). “This record capex is because we are continuing to install units in Kharkhoda. We are starting work on a new site in Gujarat, therefore, the capex has gone up because of these new investments in manufacturing capacity,” said MSIL chairman RC Bhargava on Tuesday.
