Govt to launch 1st tranche of mineral block licence bid
The New Indian Express
|February 28, 2025
THE government will launch the first tranche auction of exploration licence for blocks in March 2025, said Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Thursday.
-
This development comes after an amendment to the MMDR Act in 2023, which enabled the grant of exploration licences for critical and deep-seated minerals through auction.
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Reddy said Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, and Kerala will soon join the mineral auction regime, expanding the mineral auction map of India to 17 states.
