‘Excluded’ Riyas leads launch of NH 66

PEEVED at the alleged exclusion of P A Mohamed Riyas from the function presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kochi to launch the Ramanattukara-Vengalam stretch of NH-66, LDF leaders led by the public works minister held a parallel inauguration of the section in Kozhikode on Wednesday.

While the southern stretch of NH 66 has reached completion, the neighbouring Vengalam-Azhiyoor section remains mired in controversy.

In a preceding roadshow led by Riyas near Ramanattukara, party workers, along with elected representatives and local leaders of the ruling coalition, raised slogans against the Union government, accusing it of sidelining the state government.
