CCS nod to nuclear-propelled hunter submarines to counter China in IOR

IN a major approval that could add heft to the Indian Navy's underwater combat capability, the Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday green-flagged construction of nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSN). The project to procure 31 armed MQ 9B Unmanned Aerial Vehicles also got a nod.
The plans are to indigenously manufacture two 6,000-tonne boats initially, each costing around ₹15,000 crore, at the shipbuilding center in Vizag.
