Saffron Supremacy BJP Victorious on 10 Municipal Corporations
THE BJP swept the urban body polls in Chhattisgarh on Saturday, winning all 10 mayoral seats, while rival Congress failed to secure any. After winning the 2023 Assembly polls and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party has reinforced its electoral supremacy in Chhattisgarh.
On February 11, electronic voting machines (EVMs) were used to poll the urban bodies in 10 municipal corporations, 49 municipal councils, and 114 nagar panchayats.
"Of the 49 municipal councils, the BJP won chairperson's posts in 35, Congress in 8, AAP in one and independent in 5," the state election officials said.
