Another RSS leader speaks of ‘ahankar' for BJP's poll debacle

AMID speculation of a growing schism between the BJP and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) following Lok Sabha election results, RSS leader Indresh Kumar has come down on the saffron party, albeit indirectly, on its recent election performance.

Indresh Kumar is the RSS executive member and the chief patron of the RSS affiliate Rashtriya Muslim Manch (RMM). At a function on Thursday in Rajasthan's Jaipur, Kumar attributed the BJP's dismal performances to ‘ahankar' (arrogance). His remarks follow the recent statements of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his colleague and columnist Ratan Sharda, who appeared unhappy with the BJP.

According to a report and a video clip that surfaced in the media on Friday, Indresh Kumar in an indirect reference to the BJP said, "Those who did 'bhakti' of Lord Ram gradually became ‘ahankari'(arrogant).
