IN order to protect genuine athletes, the sports ministry has launched another set of code that can help curb age-fraud and uphold the integrity of sports competitions across the country.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Chennai

Age fraud had been a menace in Indian sports and despite rules and directives of the sports ministry the malaise seemed to have been running deep.

The Draft National Code Against Age Fraud in Sports (NCAAFS) 2025 will also hold significance for the sports ministry that is running one of the largest grassroots programme for youth - the Khelo India Youth and University Games.

The new code has been up on the ministry's website calling all parties and stakeholders to participate with suggestions if any.

Some of the highlights of the draft code is stricter monitoring and punishment for athletes indulging in such malpractice.
