Moogambikai Nagar locals complain of pig menace

RESIDENTS of Moogambikai Nagar in Uruvaiyar, under the Villianur Commune Panchayat, have urged authorities to act swiftly against pigs roaming freely in residential areas, citing health risks and accidents.

Nearly 300 families live in the locality. Residents said pigs, mostly left loose by outsiders, were seen in large numbers in the mornings and evenings. "They let them loose and only return later to take them for flesh. They never care about the problems we face," said S Revathi, a resident. Parents are reluctant to allow children to play outside, fearing the animals.
