TN directed to immediately proceed with 'regular DGP' appointment once UPSC suggests names
QUESTIONING the Tamil Nadu government over appointment of an acting DGP, the Supreme Court on Monday directed the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to expeditiously recommend the names for making a regular appointment from the list of officers sent by TN.
A three-judge bench of Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and Justices K Vinod Chandran and Atul S Chandurkar directed Tamil Nadu to immediately proceed with the appointment of a regular DGP once the recommendations from the UPSC are received.
