Girl drowns in canal; another missing

A 17-year-old girl drowned while bathing in a canal near Kiliyanur on Sunday, and another 16-year-old girl remains missing after being washed away by strong currents.
The incident took place near Pudukuppam village, where surplus water was being discharged through a canal from a lake maintained by the Public Works Department following heavy rainfall.
