VSU signs MoU with NIOT to boost marine sciences

VIKRAMA Simhapuri University (VSU), Nellore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, to transform its Marine Biology department into a Centre of Excellence.
The agreement, signed on 20 August, provides modern infrastructure, joint research opportunities, and fellowship support for students.
Under the MoU, ₹4.12 crore has been sanctioned, including ₹2.12 crore for advanced laboratory equipment. From 2025-26 to 2027-28, the top 15 postgraduate students, based on PGCET ranks, will receive ₹10,000 per month for 10 months annually over two years.
