Despite efforts by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department to reduce human-wildlife conflict, Chittoor district has witnessed a disturbing spike in attacks by wild elephants and leopards, leading to the deaths of three farmers over the past two months.

Officials reported an incident on July 28 early morning where a herd of 11 elephants, including four calves, trampled agricultural fields and orchards near the Satyasai ST Colony, close to Kalyani Dam in the Chandragiri constituency, just 10 km away from Tirupati.
