After centre's recognition, Pandiyapathy's portrait displayed at freedom fighters' photo gallery

IN the wake of the union government recognising Don Gabriel De Cruz Parathavarma Pandian alias Pandiyapathy as a freedom fighter, the Tamil Nadu government has now installed the erstwhile ruler's portrait at the photo gallery for freedom fighters on Thoothukudi collectorate premises.
It may be noted that the Union Ministry of Culture recognised Pandiyapathy's history following TNIE's detailed report about him published on December 13, 2021. The report published in the 75th anniversary year of India's Independence examined the unsung hero's role in the nation's struggle for freedom.
