Priced at ₹60 lakh, the electric SUV model is available in India only in rear wheel drive option

AFTER years of sitting on the fence, US electric carmaker Tesla officially entered the Indian market by launching its best-selling Model Y SUV at a starting price of ₹60 lakh. The Elon Musk-led company opened its first retail outlet in Mumbai and will initially start selling cars in three cities - Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram.

Model Y is available in India only in rear wheel drive (RWD) option and prices for the Long Range RWD variant has been kept at ₹67.89 lakh. The EV will be available for deliveries from the third quarter of the calendar year 2025.
