NISSAN Motor India on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to its India operations, dismissing rumours that the Japanese automaker is planning to shut down its plant in the country.

- ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU @New Delhi

The speculation had gained traction due to Nissan's dwindling market share in India and its limited number of new launches in the mass-market segment to drive sales.

"Nissan remains committed to its India operations, dealers, partners, and customers. Regarding the recent reports on the potential closure of certain plants, Nissan wants to clarify that this news is speculative and not based on any official information of the company," said the automaker in a statement.
