Stalin reiterates request to EAM to convene joint working group for permanent solution
THE Sri Lankan Navy arrested 32 fishermen hailing from Rameswaram and seized five mechanised boats for alleged violation of the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) early on Sunday.
Condemning the arrest, fisher associations in Ramanathapuram began an indefinite strike from Sunday. Chief Minister M K Stalin reiterated his request to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to convene the joint working group (JWG) to find a permanent solution to the vexatious issue.
