VIDUTHALAI Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) Chief and Chidambaram MP Thol Thirumavalavan on Saturday led a massive rally in Tiruchy, calling for the protection of secularism and Constitution, while strongly opposing what he termed as the BJP government's attempts to undermine religious harmony.
The rally, which commenced at TVS Tollgate and culminated near Campion School opposite the Tiruchy City Corporation office, saw hundreds of party cadres participate. Addressing them, Thirumavalavan declared, "Religion is for the people, not for the government. India should not adopt any one religion. We will not allow any attack on Ambedkar's Constitution."
