A school student who was subjected to corporal punishment at school was allegedly maltreated by an officer at the Ponmalai police station.
The Students' Federation of India (SFI) on Monday filed a petition with the Tiruchy District Collector demanding action against a police officer.
As reported earlier, a viral video showed the principal of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School in Ponmalapatti caning a student.
