BDU functioning sans NAAC rating for over one year

THE Tamil Nadu Government Collegiate Teachers' Association (TNGCTA) and the Association of University Teachers (AUT) have strongly criticised Bharathidasan University (BDU) for its failure to renew its NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation, which lapsed nearly one year ago on March 2024.
The associations warned that the delay could dent the university's reputation and jeopardise its distance education programmes.
BDU, which previously held an A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.32, is yet to file for re-accreditation, prompting backlash from the TNGCTA and AUT.
