Min urges depts to remain alert ahead of monsoon

WITH the rainy season at the doorstep, Revenue Minister K Rajan has urged all departments to stay vigilant and complete pre-monsoon preparations in a timely manner.

During a meeting on Tuesday focused on reviewing monsoon readiness in the district, Rajan highlighted the need to learn from the challenges faced during last year's monsoon. "We must take all necessary precautions to ensure that not a single life is lost due to the impact of heavy rainfall," he said.

Clear directives were issued to officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to alleviate traffic congestion on both sides of NH 544, where underpass construction is currently under way. Rajan also cautioned officials to be vigilant against potential minor landslips on high-altitude roads.
