Demolition of the four-decade-old station commenced on Friday
NEARLY four decades after its establishment, Bharathapuzha Railway Station is being erased from existence. On Friday morning, demolition work began on the concrete structures, including the ticket counter, marking the end of a forgotten station that once held great promise.
The station in the name of Bharathapuzha River was sanctioned in 1986, during the tenure of former President K R Narayanan, who was then a Union Minister.
