IN A MAJOR step towards addressing the growing issue of wildlife intrusion, a proposal worth Rs 18 crore has been submitted to the Kerala government for constructing rail fencing in Puduppariyaram panchayat, one of the worst-hit areas in the district.

The announcement was made during a review meeting of the District-Level Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation and Monitoring Committee held on Saturday at the district panchayat conference hall.
