THE transport department has identified 1,469 mini-bus routes across Tamil Nadu, with gazette notifications already issued in some districts.
In Chennai and other districts, notifications are expected next week, after which private operators will be granted permits. Erode and Tiruvannamalai have the highest number of routes at 109 each, while Kanniyakumari has only three.
