Students stir against anomalies in J'khand exam

Thousands of students took to the streets alleging huge irregularities in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam results and demanding its cancellation. The exam was conducted on September 21 and 22.

Hazaribagh Bandh was called by the students on Tuesday. Students started marching peacefully from Matwari Gandhi Maidaan, reached Bharat Mata Chowk and blocked NH-33, due to which vehicles remained stranded for over 10 km for over four hours. Police first resorted to a light lathi charge to disperse the crowd, but the students started pelting stones at the police, leading to damage to more than half a dozen vehicles, officials said. Police then fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.
