Kakinada Collector assures fishermen of support, stresses need to find a balance between safety and growth
KAKINADA District Collector Shan Mohan Sagali assured the public that the desalination pipeline being laid by Divis Laboratories Limited is neither harmful to the sea nor the public.
Speaking to newsmen alongside Fishermen's Association representatives at the Collectorate on Monday, he stated that the company has begun laying a 1.5-km pipeline at a depth of six metres on the seabed in Thondangi mandal to convert salt water into fresh water for industrial use, with excess salt water being released back into the sea.
