TANUKU Police in West Godavari district on Tuesday announced the arrest of five individuals involved in an interstate racket circulating counterfeit Indian currency notes.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) D Viswanath said the police recovered 838 fake ₹200 denomination notes worth ₹1,67,600. The arrested individuals were identified as Adabala Anjaneya Murthy (Ullamparru), Juttiga Nagaraju (Jinnuru), Digumarti Yesu (Kaja village), Thota Ramachandrarao (Yellamelli Puram), and Pinisetty Chakradhar (Tanuku).

All the accused belong to West Godavari district.
