Probe Ordered, Says Omar as Fashion Show Triggers Outrage

AS a fashion show in Gulmarg sparked outrage and ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said the show was a private event and the government would not have permitted such an event even if it was not Ramzan.
He said the government has ordered an inquiry into it.
After political and religious leaders as well as tourism stakeholders denounced the show, designers Shivan Bhatiya & Narresh Kukreja apologized. The 'semi-nude' fashion show was held by the designers in the snow-covered ski resort of Gulmarg on March 7.
